Buildings 2000/2001

Fort Sam Houston Army Base is on the National Register for Historic Places as a Historic Landmark District, and the design for the renovation followed State Historic Preservation Officer (SHPO) guidelines. Building 2001 alone is considered historic in nature.
Interior renovations, such as the addition of an elevator and accessible toilets, as well as interior finish upgrades were completed to satisfy the Army Corps of Engineers programming requirements. Also, new windows, the addition of a handicap ramp, and rehabilitation of the porches were completed to match the historic original details including the removal of added elements and the reconstruction of the missing details.
